I feel like Cali would have the same problems that Forza Horizon 3 has, all the roads are too wide, open, and straight and you can't really compete unless you have a 200mph+ super sports car, where as with Japan, (or any other location similar) you could have tight twisting roads where real drivers cars and tuning will actually matter. I find the jump from FH4 to AC easier somehow. FM7 seems to have excessive understeer, but also the twitchy steering that FH4 has.
